Local attractions near Kilpatrick, Isle of Mull,
on the west coast of Scotland

There is tremendous scope for walking, wildlife, fishing, beaches, golf and much to interest the naturalist - red deer (in the garden!), otters, seals, golden eagles, sea eagles, oyster catchers, plovers, guillemots, razorbills, eider to name only a few. In addition there is also a good choice of castles with Duart and Torosay Castles within walking distance. For those who enjoy day trips, Iona, Staffa and Tobermory are well worth a visit.

	Duart Castle click here for more details Standing proudly on a clifftop guarding the Sound of Mull, Duart enjoys one of the most spectacular and unique positions on the West Coast of Scotland. For over 400 years this has been the base of the Clan Maclean. Duart is only 0.5 miles from Kilpatrick.
	Mull Rail click here for more details This is Scotland's original island passenger railway. The railway is 1¼ miles long and operates steam and diesel hauled trains to Torosay, where you can visit Scottish Baronial Torosay Castle and 12 acres (4.8 hectares) of prize-winning gardens and woodland walks. There is also a footpath from Torosay to Duart Castle, ancestral home of the Clan MacLean.
	Torosay Castle click here for more details A visit to Torosay Castle and Gardens only a few minutes drive from Kilpatrick is an experience not to be missed. Inside the Castle you can wander round the principal rooms which include the front hall dominated by a collection of red deer stag antlers, the central hall, dining room, the library with its impressive collection of books, the children's nursery, bedroom and drawing room with its spectacular views of the garden. Torosay is only 0.5 miles from Kilpatrick.

	Wildlife Tours click here for more details Even on a brief visit to Mull it will soon become obvious that this is a good place for wildlife. Red deer roam the hills. Eagles and Buzzards soar over the skylines. Seals and otters can be seen in many of the bays and inlets. Mull's blend of mountains, coastline, moorland and bogs is a wonderful habitat for both flora and fauna.
